iPhone 3G Killer

The iPhone 3G is set to release friday.

Already, there are people waiting in line at the 5th avenue Apple Store in
New York. Everywhere, thousands of fans are eagerly awaiting this technological
wonder that promises to be a huge succes...

Except here in the Great White North.

Rogers Canada has decided to screw it's prospective iPhone clients big time.

The rate plans that Rogers came up with for the iPhone are a joke. Unless you have deep
pockets, the least expensive plan makes it unaffordable for most people.

Canadians will have to fork 60 bucks a month for 150 minutes during the week phone plan and 400 MB of data plus all the "goodies" will more than likely bring the real cost to about $5000 for three years. Yes, you have to sign-up for a three year contract. Too bad Rogers got the exclusive rights for the iPhone...

In the U.S., AT&T's least expensive plan is $69.99 for 450 minutes with no ceiling as far as
internet usage goes. That is for a two year contract.

If you saw Steve Jobs' keynote address at the WWDC in may, you know the killer apps
that are coming to the iPhone will reap havoc on the competition. Apple played it's card
right and the iPhone will be a huge success.

Except here in Canada. Thanks to Rogers, nobody will storm their store to get their hands
on the hot new iPhone 3G. We are again going to have to let the rest of the world enjoy
this great new device while we wait for Rogers to come to its senses...

Hopefully, somebody at Apple will call Rogers and tell it to get it's act straight. After all,
Rogers has to meet a certain quota.

Hey, this new Samsung Instinct looks more and more appealing suddenly. And Bell's plan
calls for a $10 a month data plan.

Now that is a iPhone killer deal!

But the real iPhone killer is Rogers.
