Social Media Sites Losing Their Focus.

Many social media sites are losing their focus. Recent trends to allow any widgets under the sun to extract data for monetizing their user base bodes nothing good for us clients.

Again, the short term view of some managers are beginning to look more and more like
opportunists just waiting to make a quick buck at the expense of users.

No doubt that this doesn't look good for our personal information. My guess is that greed
will kill a few of the social media sites for their loss of focus.

Instead of looking to make more profits why don't they put more features? Look at
Apple's MobileMe and the iPhone 3G. Now that is one big step in the right direction.
